Through works like this, it is my goal to not just visualize nature, but emotional experiences in their own right. The expressive and thick marks serve as a conduit for the emotions, and power of the events. While the analogous color schemes create harmony and invite deeper contemplation. By restricting my palette to about three or four colors in each piece, I challenge myself to find interest and variety within a limited range. Using these bold colors often leads to unexpected discoveries.
Ultimately, these works are my exploration of the complicated intersection of the external world and our internal emotional worlds. This work is made to evoke a sense of awe and introspection. To encourage viewers to consider their place in this grand, chaotic tapestry of the world. Each stroke is an invitation to connect with the epic, terrifying and raw power of nature. In doing so I hope to foster a deeper appreciation for the beauty and power of our world, and to highlight the delicate nature between human life and experiences and the forces that shape our planet and world.
